Sanitation workers have temporarily withdrawn their protest after the government accepted demands including a daily ₹50 food allowance, weekly gloves, raincoats and toilet and rest-room facilities across 197 wards. Cases registered in connection with the protest are also expected to be withdrawn. A second round of talks on pending demands, including weekly leave, maternity leave and menstrual leave, is scheduled for October 3.
