Karnataka told to ensure Cauvery flow
The Cauvery Management Authority ordered Karnataka to release 12,000 cusecs daily to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days.
At a Cauvery Management Authority meeting in Delhi, Karnataka was ordered to release 12,000 cusecs daily to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days. On July 28 it was directed to release 3,500 cusecs daily for 15 days, but no water was released. Tamil Nadu said monthly dues for June, July and August under the Supreme Court judgment were not supplied. Karnataka said four reservoirs held only 77.746 TMC - 47% below the 30-year level - preventing a full release. Flow must be ensured at Billigundulu from 8 am on August 13.
