TN government clarifies ₹5.54 crore CM office tender
Work underway is old-furniture removal; new office works start only after a contractor is chosen.
The Tamil Nadu government has responded to the controversy over a ₹5.54 crore tender to set up a Chief Minister’s office at the Namakkal Poet’s House. Opposition parties alleged work began before the tender. The government says the current work is a separate job to remove old furniture, a 15-day window ran from 17 August to 1 September as required, and new office works will start only after a contractor is chosen.
