Property tax has not been raised

Greater Chennai Corporation has said property tax has not been raised across the city. Residents have been asked not to believe false reports of a hike. Revised assessment notices went only to properties that were under-assessed earlier, using the owners’ own self-declaration data. Objections can be appealed to the zonal deputy commissioner within 15 days of the notice, and appeals will be settled within 30 days.
