TN raises paddy and sugarcane farmer bonuses
From 1 September: fine paddy ₹2,750/qtl, common ₹2,600/qtl; sugarcane total ₹4,000/tonne with special incentive.
With paddy procurement set to begin on 1 September, Tamil Nadu has raised the state bonus. Fine (sanna) paddy is fixed at ₹2,750 a quintal with a ₹289 bonus; common paddy at ₹2,600 with a ₹159 bonus. Sugarcane growers get a special incentive of ₹709.50 a tonne, taking the total with the central price to ₹4,000 a tonne. The government says the sugarcane special incentive itself has been raised by ₹360.50 in the first year.
