Tirunelveli pastor given four death sentences
POCSO court: one sentence per girl, ₹10 lakh compensation each.
In 2022, Tirunelveli pastor Abraham was booked under POCSO for sexually assaulting four girls, including three from the same family. After the charges were proved, the court imposed four death sentences - one for the offence against each girl. It also fined him ₹52,000 and ordered the Tamil Nadu government to pay ₹10 lakh compensation to each of the four survivors.
